Welcome to the Women's Program
The Women’s Program was established in March
2000 to meet the special needs of women with HIV through a
combination of medical, nursing, dietary, social work, case
management and pharmacy services. The Women's Program offers
a family-centered, culturally sensitive approach to care for
the HIV-positive woman.
We’re With You All The Way
If you have been infected with HIV, you can
receive complete, expert medical care form the Harris County
Hospital District (HCHD). Since 1981, the HCHD has been
caring for more HIV patients than any other agency in the
area. Our goal is to help HIV-positive patients live healthy,
productive lives.
HIV can damage your immune system so badly that
your body is no longer able to fight off many kinds of
diseases, such as infections and certain cancers. Once you
have the virus, it is always with you, but early treatment can
allow a person with HIV infection to live a long, healthy
life.
