HCHD Town Hall Meetings - FY 2006 Budget

David S. Lopez, Interim President and CEO of the Harris County Hospital District, presented the organization's FY06 (March 1, 2005 - February 28, 2006) operating budget to the community at four public town hall meetings in February. The FY06 proposed budget is $780 million, reflecting a $14 million increase from last year's budget.

These were the last opportunities for public input before HCHD's governing body, the Board of Managers, adopts the budget on Feb. 24. Harris County Commissioners Court will consider final adoption of HCHD's budget in early March.

 

A Hospital District mobile clinic was available to administer flu shots for $3.

 

The Harris County Hospital District is the fifth largest metropolitan public healthcare system in the U.S. It comprises three hospitals--Ben Taub General Hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson General Hosptial and Quentin Mease Community Hospital--twelve neighborhood health centers including an HIV/AIDS facility, a dental center, six school-based clinics, thirteen satellite homeless shelter clinics and five mobile health units.
