John A. Guest Resigns as CEO

 

John A. Guest, President and CEO

President and CEO John A. Guest on March 8 submitted his letter of resignation as head of the Harris County Hospital District.

The HCHD Board of Managers received the news following the 9 a.m. special meeting where the Board adopted the HCHD budget and discussed land deals for LBJ Hospital's future expansion.

No reason for his decision or a date for his departure has been released. Guest resigned last April, but later rescinded his decision. He has been President and CEO of HCHD since March 2000.

The adopted budget now goes to the Harris County Commissioners Court on March 16 for consideration. A vote on land acquisition for LBJ failed narrowly.
