Dr. Atul Varadhachary Joins HCHD Board of Managers   

HOUSTON (March 27, 2009) Dr. Atul Varadhachary, president and CEO, of Agennix Incorporated, was officially sworn into office March 18 as a member of the Harris County Hospital District Board of Managers, the governing body for the hospital district.

Varadhachary was appointed to the board by County Judge Ed Emmett on Feb. 24.

As a member of the Board of Managers, Varadhachary will help oversee operation of the public health care system serving the nation's third most-populous county. It provides quality health care for more than one million patient visits each year to Harris County residents.

The hospital district operates Ben Taub General Hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, Quentin Mease Community Hospital, 12 community health centers, a dental center, a dialysis center, eight school-based clinics, 13 homeless shelter clinics and five mobile health units.
