HCHD's PM&R Staff Recognized at American Board Conference

HOUSTON (Feb. 25, 2009) – Six staff from the Harris County Hospital District Rehabilitation Services Department received recognition recently from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties at the American Physical Therapy Association conference in Las Vegas.

 

Denise Cortes, PT, PCS, manager of Rehabilitation Services and Child Life at Ben Taub General Hospital, was appointed to the Specialization Academy of Content Experts (SACE) for Pediatrics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. As an expert, she prepares and edits items for the pediatric physical therapy certification examination.

 

Chris Dewey, PT, MPT, OCS, physical therapist at Quentin Mease Community Hospital, recently completed a fellowship in orthopedic and manual physical therapy. In 2008, he became board certified in orthopedic physical therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specializations. He also practices at People's Health Center and serves as faculty for the HCHD Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency.

 

Katherine Jones, PT, MSPT, NCS, senior physical therapist at Quentin Mease Community Hospital, received her board certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. 

 

Anna de Joya, PT, MS, NCS, senior physical therapist at Quentin Mease Community Hospital, received her board certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. 

 

Anne Pati, PT, MS, OCS, senior physical therapist at Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, received her board certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. 

 

Lora Walker, PT, MSPT, NCS, senior physical therapist at Quentin Mease Community Hospital, received her board certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
