HCHD’s School-Based Clinics Offer Free Immunizations HOUSTON (August 4, 2009) – School is around the corner. Does your child have his/her required immunizations? If not, the Harris County Hospital District’s School-Based Clinics are offering free immunizations from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11; Tuesday, August 18; Tuesday, August 25 and Tuesday, September 1. Immunizations are available for children two months to 18 years of age. For a child to receive immunizations, a parent must be present and must have the child’s shot record. All shots will be given based on availability.
The Harris County Hospital District is the public healthcare system for the nation’s third most-populous county. It provides more than one million healthcare visits each year to residents of Harris County. The hospital district operates Ben Taub General Hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, Quentin Mease Community Hospital, 13 community health centers, a dialysis center, a dental center, eight school-based clinics, 13 homeless shelter clinics and five mobile health units.
