Beat the Back to School Immunization Rush:
Hospital District’s Troubleshooters Program Offering Free Immunizations throughout July and August

HOUSTON (July 1, 2009) – Summer is here and kids are at play. But before you know it school will be back in session, and parents will be making a mad dash to their child’s doctor’s office to get the required immunizations.

So beat the back-to-school immunization rush! The Harris County Hospital District’s Troubleshooters Program is offering free immunizations, throughout July and August.

To receive immunizations a parent must be present and the child must have his/her shot record. All shots will be given based on availability.

The Harris County Hospital District is the public health care system for the nation’s third most-populous county. It provides more than one million health care visits each year to residents of Harris County. The hospital district operates Ben Taub General Hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, Quentin Mease Community Hospital, 13 community health centers, a dialysis center, a dental center, eight school-based clinics, 13 homeless shelter clinics and five mobile health units.
