Harris County Hospital District Offers H1N1 Vaccines for $14

The Harris County Hospital District is offering H1N1 flu vaccines to adults at all of its community health centers located across Harris County on specific days and times. The cost of the vaccine is $14. The vaccine is one of the best ways to protect against the H1N1 virus.

HCHD Encourages Use of Nasal Spray to Fight H1N1 Flu
While the thought of using a nasal spray vaccine containing a live, but weakened, virus to fight the H1N1 flu may seem odd, the Harris County Hospital District encourages people to consider this safe and effective option to fight the flu.

HIV/AIDS Individuals Urged to Not Take H1N1 Nasal Spray
Confirmed HIV/AIDS individuals and people who suspect they may be HIV-positive should not get the 2009 H1N1 nasal spray vaccine. The results of inhaling the live, but weakened, virus nasal spray by these individuals could have serious consequences, according to Dr. Gus Krucke, specialist, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, HIV Care, Thomas Street Health Center.
