Expected Outcome and Follow-up

Patients will start feeling better almost immediately after the procedure, and symptoms will continue to improve within the next 4-6 weeks and up to one year afterwards. Most patients can discontinue their medication prescribed for HOCM. Patients should be followed-up by a cardiologist for the next several years. We recommend a repeat 2-D echoardiogram and Doppler at 6 weeks and yearly thereafter.
