Symptoms of HOCM

Symptom can be variable and can appear at any age. They generally include shortness of breath at rest or with exertion, chest pain, dizziness, fainting, fatigue, and palpitations. Symptoms can vary from mild to severe, and patients may have none of the symptoms, some of the symptoms, or all of the symptoms. A small number of patients may be at risk for sudden cardiac death. It occasionally strikes young athletes.
