Volunteer Services

Each year volunteers donate more than 30,000 hours to the Harris County Hospital District. Volunteers provide a number of services for our patients and their families.

Committed volunteers help ensure our success. We invite you to make a difference in your community by helping bring a smile to a patient or family member.

As one of our volunteers you will be a key member of the nation’s fourth largest public metropolitan health system. There are many exciting opportunities within the Harris County Hospital District.

Our volunteers represent a variety of professions, age groups and cultural backgrounds. By donating their time to help patients and visitors, they become an integral part of the HCHD healthcare team.

To become a volunteer you must:

1.  Fill out a Volunteer Application
2.  Pass a criminal background check
3.  Attend orientation
3.  Schedule a brief interview with Volunteer
     Coordinator
5.  Show proof of a negative tuberculosis skin test
